Upgraded Leopard on my Mac

And it’s nice… very nice.

All except software update will not work.
Software Update Error Dialogue

It is making a request for http://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog

This file does not exist on that server. What I find incredibly frustrating here is that Apple support in Australia (133 622) has had me do the following:

Check my file / folder permissions
Repair my file / folder permissions
Create an additional administrator account and try again
Remove the system preferences and try again

After a total of 62 minutes on the phone, a senior consultant finally admitted that there was an error with the update server.

It isn’t a huge thing really I guess, but one of those things you would have expected to have been tested before the software was given to TNT for delivery.

So – for those updating to Leopard in the next few days… Don’t run software update.

Leopard Finally!

Well, apple spent most of the night offline (their store that is) to be updated at 22:30 announcing the release of Leopard. It’s been a while… but glad it’s finally here.

Seachange – One Endless Holiday

Seachange is a new development on the Gold Coast. They are also a client of ours using our VoIP solution and I have to admit it has been a fairly steep learning curve for both of us.
There are a couple of major backers behind SeaChange and as such we have had to sit within many different constraints – and some of these have caused some pretty big issues (such as not using our preferred connectivity provider etc).
For those that are interested – at the moment SeaChange is using an SPA9000 pbx from LinkSys paired with a SPA400 for redundant POTS services and Voicemail.
