Why is it that when particular people (personality types) come into a new office situation – they feel that they have to throw their weight around (what little of it they may have) so that they get noticed.
I suppose if done right, then it isn’t really a problem, but I personally am yet to see anybody do it right.
The reason I am ranting about this is becuase I have just been pushing a design through for a new system, that has taken about 6 weeks to get properly designed and approved (that is a long time). Two Fridays ago it was approved.
Last Friday, I went to the people who will be implementing it, to ask for a time frame – they have had over a week to work out dates etc from the plan.
But no, the new guy wasn’t happy with it.
I could tolerate that – IF he had come back to me and said that he had a problem with it. Why did I have to come to him to get a date, to find out that he wasn’t happy – and had just gone ahead and made a fucking change to the design – leaving it open to all kinds of risks that were already identified and the reason for leaving out the part he wanted to put back in.
He has now wasted another week when I desperatly need this thing done.
This morning is going to be interesting, because I am going to have such a dummy spit – the likes that have never been seen before – I am actually so angry about this that I hope I make somebody cry. (preferably not me)
I will let you know.
